An Overture for the Odyssey Progress Update
Work on the Aeonlith prequel novella, An Overture for the Odyssey, continues and I was able to get a lot done this week! Almost a third to my goal but I do suspect the first draft will end up being a few thousand words longer than that. My hope is to have the first draft done by the end of March and then plowing ahead to have it published sometime this summer.
I am continuing work on An Abyss for the Ashes. Currently heavily rewriting two chapters since my editor came back with a lot of notes to ratchet up the tension in them. This is one of the reasons that my books actually pick up a few extra thousand words during the editing process as I tend to plow through the plot with the first two drafts and then go back to add in more detail, character beats, and more obstacles. So, basically, I’ve spent the week editing and revising these two chapters which I hope to finish this weekend along with two more chapter revisions.
Here’s this week’s numbers:
I just made progress on An Overture for the Odyssey! So far I’m 31% complete on the First Draft phase. 24 Days remain until the deadline.
